Santa Run

Santa run in Kalundborg. See thousands of Santa’s in running shoes in Kalundborg on Sunday the 12th of December 2010.

For the second consecutive year, thousands will take part in the big family race "Santa run" in Kalundborg. In 2008, 1200 runners participated, all age groups were represented. Many families took the opportunity to exercise for fun with children and grandparents. We expect to be many more in 2010.

On Sunday the 12th of December 2010, Kalundborg replaces the Christmas joint and honey cakes with fun Christmas exercise, when thousands of happy jogging Santa’s put on their running shoes and run out into Kalundborg streets at this years SANTA RUN.

The SANTA RUN in Kalundborg in the Guinness Books of Records.

And yes! Of course, THE SANTA RUN in Kalundborg must go in the Guinness Book of Records.

The Santa run has existed for more than 15 years around the world including in Spain, England, Ireland and Las Vegas, USA, and today has so many participants that the races have also become a Guinness World Record competition to gather as many Santa’s as possible at the same time and in the same place.
A record, which presently is held by Liverpool with almost 4000 participants.

Kalundborg will try to break the Guinness World Record the next few years.

- Maybe we won’t succeed this year, but now we are starting the second year, then we might break the record next year, when word has spread about the race, says, Rene Bengtsson, Christmas-enthusiastic director of tourism in Kalundborg.
